Holly Hartenstein | Graphic Designer

I'm all about functional beauty, realistic budgets and designing with purpose. From my experience, there is a big difference between designing something that looks good and designing something that works. I’ve created and managed the design of logos, brochures, direct mail, websites, tradeshow booths, and more. I focus on asking the right questions to get the desired results.

I am a UW-Stout graduate with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design, a minor in English writing, a love of ceramics and rugby, and a true appreciation for post-it-notes. Since my college years, I have been working as a graphic designer, beginning my career at a budding design agency in Milwaukee. From there I began testing the waters of freelance design and, to my surprise, stumbled upon my largest endeavor in the internal marketing department for the third largest Wisconsin-based bank in Madison.

Designing for a bank may not always be exciting, but it definitely has its share of unique challenges. Learning the inner-workings of a marketing department has been a valuable experience, giving me the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of people and departments company-wide. Over a span of five years, I wore many hats including graphics and promotions specialist, Web manager and design manager. What made me successful was a combination of my project management and problem solving skills and my ability to develop effective message strategies and adapt in an ever-changing financial environment.

That leads me to where I stand today. I am looking for the next challenge, following my passion of graphic design and seeking a new opportunity to design with purpose.
